Studio 360 Fitness Ltd, the company behind the Studio 360 gym at Unit 7a Radford Crescent in Billericay, has gone into creditors’ voluntary liquidation with claims against it totalling £743,749 and, on its own figures, nothing left to pay any of them. The winding-up resolution was passed at a general meeting on 21 July 2026 and Sandra Fender of insolvency firm Sanderlings LLP was appointed liquidator the same day. (The Gazette, notice 5180331)

The detail comes from the company’s statement of affairs, the sworn snapshot of assets and debts a director must produce when a company is wound up. It was signed by director Mark Nokes on 13 July, sets out the position as at that date, and was filed at Companies House on 4 August. (Companies House, company 07872120, filing history)

Who is owed what

The statement estimates every category of the company’s assets, fixed charge, floating charge and uncharged alike, at nil. Against that, it lists claims of £743,749:

  • £495,917 owed to Nokes on the director’s loan account. The statement also lists Nokes as the company’s only shareholder, holding its single £1 ordinary share.
  • £125,484 owed to HMRC, made up of £122,484 in corporation tax and £3,000 in VAT.
  • £99,192 owed to trade creditors between them: £57,663 to a creditor listed as Riverlow Billercay Ltd, £21,060 to SSE Energy Supply, £20,468 to British Gas, and £1 to Essex County Council.
  • £23,156 owed to eight employees between them.

After the company’s £1 of share capital, the statement puts the estimated total deficiency at £743,750.

The company behind the gym

Companies House records show the company was incorporated on 6 December 2011 as John Leach Logistics Limited and took the name Studio 360 Fitness Ltd on 23 March 2022, with its registered activity given as fitness facilities. Its registered office stayed at Unit 7a Radford Crescent until 4 August, when it moved to the liquidator’s Birmingham address as part of the winding up. (Companies House, company 07872120)

The gym’s own website at studio360fitness.co.uk was returning an access error when Basildon Today checked on Wednesday 12 August, and the public record does not state when the gym last opened its doors.

What it means for you

If you paid for membership, classes or personal training in advance, you are an unsecured creditor of the company and can register a claim with the liquidator. The Gazette notice gives Sanderlings LLP’s contact number as 01564 700 052. (The Gazette, notice 5180345) Be aware of what the statement of affairs says, though: with assets estimated at nil, it anticipates no funds being available for unsecured creditors.

If you worked there, wages, holiday pay and redundancy owed by an insolvent employer can be claimed from the government’s Redundancy Payments Service rather than waiting on the liquidation; the liquidator provides the case reference you need. The process is explained at gov.uk.
