Christmas Day 2026 near Basildon costs £57.95 at the Noak Bridge to £150 at Downham Hall (sold out), with December menus from £29.95: ten places checked.

For Christmas Day 2026 around Basildon, the cheapest published menu is at the Noak Bridge in Laindon (£57.95), with the two Hungry Horse pubs and the Inn on the Green in Billericay close behind at about £63. The Duke of York on Southend Road charges £99.95, and the White Horse at Ramsden Heath £110. Downham Hall (£150) has already sold out. Every entry checked against the venue’s own site on 1 November 2026.

We have not eaten at any of these for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Each entry gives the price on the venue’s own 2026 Christmas menu, what that includes where the venue says, and its deposit and booking rules, plus the Food Standards Agency (FSA) hygiene rating. Prices are per adult unless we say otherwise.

Billericay and Great Burstead

1. The Duke of York, Billericay

The Duke of York is an independent pub and restaurant on Southend Road, between Billericay and Wickford. Its festive brochure sets out a three-course Christmas Day menu at £99.95, or £49.95 for children under 12.

Starters include king prawns in a “Bloody Marie Rose” sauce with smoked salmon, and the mains are roast turkey with pork, sage and apricot stuffing, a festive nut roast, salmon with lobster bisque, rump of lamb, or a butternut squash and ricotta Wellington, all with honey roast parsnips and sprouts with chestnuts. Before the day, the festive menu runs from £29.95 for two courses and £34.95 for three.

The brochure also lists tribute nights on 3, 10 and 17 December and Breakfast with Santa on Saturday 19 December.

2. The King’s Head, Great Burstead

The King’s Head is a Vintage Inns pub on Southend Road at Great Burstead, on the southern edge of Billericay. Its Christmas Day page offers Christmas Day lunch or dinner “from £104.95 per adult and £42.50 per child”, available on the day only, with the full menu as a downloadable PDF.

The children’s menu is three courses for £42.50. The pub also runs separate Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and festive menus, each with its own page.

3. The Inn on the Green, Billericay

The Inn on the Green is a Greene King pub on Mountnessing Road, on the north side of Billericay. Its Christmas Day page offers “three delicious courses for £62.95”, with “traditional Christmas dinners” that include “all the special festive extras”, from sprouts to pigs in blankets.

A £10 deposit per person, adults and children alike, secures the booking, and the booking is confirmed by email only once it is paid. A separate children’s Christmas Day menu and a menu with no gluten-containing ingredients are on the same page.

Ramsden Heath and Downham

4. The White Horse, Ramsden Heath

The White Horse is an independent pub on Heath Road, Ramsden Heath, just north of Billericay. Its Christmas Day menu is £110 a head, with starters such as roast duck salad and a “boozy” prawn cocktail, then hand-carved turkey, prime roast beef, sea bass, pork tenderloin, ribeye or a spiced vegetable roast, and Christmas pudding or a clementine and prosecco torte to finish.

The children’s menu is £65. A non-refundable £25 deposit per person is due within seven days of booking, the balance by 1 December, and a discretionary 12.5% service charge is added.

Before the day, its festive set menu (23 November to 24 December) is £36.95 for two courses or £41.95 for three, with a £10 deposit.

5. Downham Hall, Downham

Downham Hall is a Georgian manor house on Castledon Road at Downham, with the North Wing restaurant that the hall says holds two AA Rosettes. Its Christmas page lists Christmas Day lunch, with Turkey Wellington as the centrepiece, at £150 for adults and £65 for children, but it is marked “SOLD OUT”.

Seats remain on the hall’s December dates: a festive set lunch from 1 to 23 December, Wednesday to Saturday from 12pm to 3pm, at £39.50 for two courses or £45 for three; a festive afternoon tea in its new barn at £40 on Fridays and £45 on Saturdays; and Supper with Santa on 15 and 22 December at £35 a head.

6. Miller and Carter, Langdon Hills

Miller and Carter is the steakhouse chain’s branch on High Road, Langdon Hills. Its Christmas Day page offers the Christmas Day menu “from £109.95”, built around “the steak experience”, with the menu as a PDF.

We started from the pubs and restaurants in the Basildon borough and just beyond it that publish a 2026 Christmas Day price on their own website or menu PDF, and checked each one on 1 November 2026. Every place here holds a food hygiene rating of 5 from the FSA. Oliver’s Italian on Jackson Lane, Billericay, publishes a five-course Christmas Day menu at £120, but its latest FSA rating, from July 2026, is 1, so it is not listed. The Giggling Squid in Billericay’s High Street had not yet published Christmas prices, and the Railway in Billericay and the Shepherd and Dog at Crays Hill showed no Christmas menu on their sites. Prices and availability change as tables fill, so check with the venue before you book.
